Our « old » daughter (6 years old) has also been a « little » daughter. I’m showing you my first creations done with my super Pfaff sewing machine (a nice birthday present, 6 years old also !)
For these clothes, I used a pants pattern from the book « intemporels pour bébés », reduced in every ways, as it was really too big ! The final pattern had nothing to see with the initial one. I also added some draws on its sides, as a reminder of those above.
The top comes from the same book : I changed the front to add a « plastron » and false buttons. It can be closed in the back with snap fasteners.
Les tissus sont des cotons dont celui à petites étoiles utilisé dernièrement pour le survêtement de la demoiselle.
As I promised you some days ago, here is my « miam miam » lunch box. That’s an isothermic bag I use everyday to bring my lunch at work. the fabric is doubled and quilted (like some supermarket cool bags). The next one will be done with a survival blanket, more efficient to keep the good temperature !
This afternoon, Nolan celebrated his birthday with his
girl friends. You saw invit cards, now here is the prize of the treasure hunt : big doudou cushion rabbit, japanese style (home made pattern !) for Nolan and his girl friends
Kids’s name is printed in the back of the rabbit
Kids got the idea to put it around their neck, like flight cushion ! That’s a good idea, but I need to change a little bit the pattern.
And, of course, Eline would like one for herself !
Our daughter used her little schoolbag for 3 years (when she was 3 to 6), and despite all this time, it is not too « tired » 🙂
At home we love this coated fabric, especially our daughter because she was also chosen it for her bag for pool, and also for my miam miam box I will show you soon !
Eline is pretty, she is a (good old fashioned) real girl who loves beautiful fabrics, hearts and any glittering things !
So here is the polar jacket that I have made on the same model as the sport jacket.
Eline has long legs, wondering who she looks like (perhaps her father :-))… and a wasp waist. The problem is to find a sweatsuit in which she looks like something else than a bag. Then after several catastrophic fittings in shops, I decided to make her a customized sweatsuit. And a sweatsuit that pleases to her father who has a sweatsuit phobia, who knows why 🙂
Jacket and pants are from an Ottobre’s pattern. Hood and stars are coming from a starry fabric purchased before her birth.
The young lady was happy, her daddy also…and our kitten also !
And the beginning of stars for the latest little girl bag. Our daughter’s friend like flashy colors and are a dreaming little girl, so I guess she’ll love this new bag
The sun was there (for few minutes), letting me take some pictures !
Here are our kids’s cousins for the baptism of the youngest one.
I proposed to make clothes for all of them, with the same trends of colors and fabrics. Nolan and his cousin (11 days older) are dressed in a cotton and linen reversible vest. The inside is made with a starry cotton for Nolan, and a cotton with peas for his cousin. The pants comes from an Ottobre pattern (with some modifications), with two pockets in the back with a reminder of the lining of jackets.
The youngest cousin wears an Ottobre pants and a vest similar tothe other boys, in striped cotton and peas (like his brother).
Eline wears a skirt in linen and cotton (Burda Occasional model ), a butterfly sleeve blouse and a bolero (home made pattern)
they were really beautiful, and I was also proud of them !
I always try to create homemade gift for birthdays and those of my daughter’s friends in particular. This year at school, they have swimming lessons, so what better than a nice bag to put their swimming suits and towel. Fabrics and colors were chosen by my daughter according her friends’s tastes.
Of course, I made one for my daughter :
then for her friends :
Each bag is unique and personalized by a small homemade label with their first name.
Friends (and her mom !) love them !
At least, a last one is currently in process, I’ll show you soon.
